Originally the home of one of the most prominent sea captain families on the island, the Aigialos Luxury Traditional Settlement has been restored to its splendor in 2000 by Koula Tsouni and her brother Ambassador Tsounis, proud descendants of the family. The property opened its doors to welcome guests as a luxury traditional hotel with 15 lavishly designed suites, each named after the Aegean winds.

The restoration’s architecture and design's main objective was to bring to life the traditional way of living of the island’s nobility: large indoor and outdoor spaces, natural sunlight and airing through the property, a traditional Santorinian Canava for food and goods storage, and a secluded private courtyard for family and social gatherings.

Restored to precision by master masons using local volcanic stone, Greek marbles, and colored lime plaster, all suites blend harmoniously the modern lifestyle comfort and luxury hotel amenities with old-world furnishings and antiques from travels past and the family’s heirlooms.

A genuine host, Koula Tsouni paired the top-level suite experience with fine dining inspired by the Greek and island traditional cuisine and Santorinian wines. The menu is created and executed by the talented and multi-awarded Chef Konstantina Faklari and her team, for you to enjoy at the hotel's historic courtyard or at your private verandah.

The Aigialos Luxury Traditional Settlement has been unanimously accepted as a member of the Historic Hotels of Europe in 2005 and has amassed ever since various awards and accolades for its style, service, and cuisine.
